What I did:
The year before university I did a research project with Adrian Carretero and his team in Electronic Institute of Montpellier (IES), that ended up with an article (quoted above).
I also wrote a report (Theorical and Practical). Because of that report I won an award of "Universitat Ramon LLull".

Abstract of my report:
This research project explains the creation of nano columns of quartz by Sol-Gel chemistry. The purpose is to discover if it is possible to create the columns.
The project is divided in two parts. The first part explains the quartz and the different ways to obtain it. The second part is about the experiments and conclusions that have been extracted from the quartz.
Quartz is a piezoelectric material. Thanks to this property, quartz is used as a key piece in all types of sensors, as for example mass, pressure, etc. These sensors could increase its sensibility, precision and speed thanks to nanometric quartz, increasing, in that way, its oscillation frequency and specific surface of the device. For that reason, the creation of quartz nano columns would improve the piezoelectric property. It must be stand out the importance of synthesise of nano quartz.
In conclusion, there is no doubt that it is possible to create the columns.
